I had a planned c-section with Colby and it was so nice. (I had an unplanned c-section with Blake). One thing that I really liked about having the planned section with Colby is that I knew ahead of time that Blake would be taken care of while I was in the hospital. There was nothing up in the air as to how Blake would be cared for. I did not feel disappointed in not doing the "natural" thing as I did the pain of labor the first time and my body just didn't want to finish it... so with the planned c-section I didn't have labor pain and had the same results. I was off pain medication before I left the hospital and was a lot less worn out because I didn't have the 20+ hours of labor and then surgery this time

sorry this is a long reply, but I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone in this decision and for me at least... it was the right one!

My feelings are totally opposite. I just don't understand why anyone would choice to have a c-section if they didn't have to. I would rather have the pain of labour before the baby is born than to have to recover from a major surgery after the baby is born. I know that it would suck to go through the labour and than have to have a c-section, but a lot of ladies are able to have a natural birth the second time around even if that was the case the first time.
I also thought that it was kind of exciting not knowing what my babies birthdate was going to be.
Anyway these are just my thoughts and feelings. Obviously it's your decision and it sounds like you are making it prayfully, so good for you.

How exciting that you got to hear the baby's heartbeat...and even Jacob got to hear it! I LOVED hearing my babie's heartbeat...and once you can start to feel them moving that is just amazing too! I hope all continues to go super well for you...

I hope you're feeling better soon!

Isn't hearing your baby's heartbeat just the best thing?
